Opps.. I Did It Again!

The title says it all. I just indulged myself in some of the world’s most fattening food this time round thanks to I LOVE DISCOUNTS. I am not exaggerating to say that I’ve had my chance to try not 1, but 12 different types of Cheese Tarts. I actually dislike Cheesy people, but I like Cheese. See the irony of the mentally ill Alvin Kok once again? Nevertheless, let’s get away from all my random crap that bores you to death. I LOVE DISCOUNTS gave me another chance to grow a few inches fatter and making my dream come through – of being an explosive (fat) balloon with Opps Cheese Tarts at Pavilion today. Opps Cheese Tarts is Malaysia’s 1st Cheese Tart Stall. The first thing that came into my mind when I heard that “Opps” was this:

Yeah, the song gets stuck into anyone’s head in just a second. Anyways, my point is this: Opps is a Cheese Tart Stall located at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur (168, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Bukit Bintang, 55100, Kuala Lumpur) – near Beard Papa at the Ground Floor (near to Food Republic). It’s not any big fancy stalls but the Opps certainly caught my attention.IMG_0224 You see an array of Cheese Tarts that does not look like Cheese Tarts displayed at the fridge in a very nice, orderly and attractive manner.IMG_0225 At the moment, there are 12 different flavours of Cheese Tarts at Opps. And because it just opened, you get to Buy 10 Free 2 currently (But chup, read on more below for surprises!)IMG_0226With the courtesy of Opps and I LOVE DISCOUNTS, I was given a box here of 12 and because I am a balloon, I got a bite of ever piece. LOL!IMG_0228 I was quite fascinated with the different flavours I was given and the way it was placed in a nice box. Suitable as gifts for Cheese-y friends. Okay, I meant Cheese-lovers’ friends that you have.IMG_0229IMG_0230 So, here’s my 2 cents worth (I hope it worth more!) of opinion on the different flavours given to me. You can choose to abide with my preference, but you are always free to give all of it a try! Almond Cheese Tarts –

Cheese Tarts My 2 Cents
Almond Pretty ordinary. But being a nut fanatic, the almond makes it very nutty, crunchy and tasty. The nuts did not cover the smell of the cheese too!
Black Charcoal The word charcoal tells you most of it already. It tastes weird. I don’t eat charcoal okay? But the cheese taste is still there. I thought that was pretty creative though!
Strawberry If you are a Strawberry lover, this is worth a try. The mixture of strawberry and cheese is about just right. It could be slightly sweeter though.
Pumpkin I like the pumpkin seeds on top. Without a doubt, the pumpkin seeds are the one that gives the cheese tart a variety.
Marble If you are a fan of Marble Cake, you would love this. It is something like Marble Cake, but it’s different because of the cheese. Somehow or rather, it tastes a little like Chocolate! 😛
Lemon This is the ordinary Lemon Cheese Tarts you can get out there, but the difference is this has some tiny lemon pieces on it which it’s chewy.
Greentea Okay, I personally thought this one was the most awful one among all. I did not like the thick taste of Greentea. But I know I am always hated for hating Greentea. Prove me wrong? Go try this! It still smells alien to me somehow! 😛
Coffee Coffee lovers, this is worth a try. The coffee taste was not too strong. So, if you dislike strong taste of coffee, this would make it a good dessert.
Chocolate This was slightly too sweet for me. But if you are a big fan of bitter chocolate, this is not for you. Cause it’s not at all bitter!
Raisins I have to say this one was nice. I shared the tarts with a few and all of us agreed the raisins makes it taste good. Something to chew on while enjoying the taste of the cheese.
Blueberry It’s rare we get to eat blueberry. This was pretty unique and creamy with the blueberries on top. This wasn’t too sweet but I like sucking those blueberry juices out in my mouth! 😛
Black Sesame This was also one of the best. Ain’t too sweet and it had a pretty good mixture of black sesame with cheese. This is a must try!

Despite it all, the cheese texture was pretty smooth. Though I personally think that it should be slightly sweeter. If it was sweeter, it would make a perfecto dessert. But if you are not a fan of sweet sweet things, this is just nice. But if you really have sweet tooth, try get those tarts with toppings, that would help compliment the taste. Okay, the above are obviously my taste buds. Drop me a note if you think it tastes better than that after purchasing them! I wannnnaaaaaaaaaaa know! Buy your chees-y friends a box or get yourself a few today. I LOVE DISCOUNTS will be offering some really good deals beginning middle of next week or so. Keep checking on for more cool discounts coming your way. If you wanna compare the prices, a box of 6 costs RM 21.00 while a box of 10 (+2) costs RM 38.00. You may wanna see what I LOVE DISCOUNTS can offer next week! __________________________________________________________________________ OPPS CHEESE TARTS Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, 168, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Bukit Bintang, 55100, Kuala Lumpur. near to Beard Papa or Food Republic Food Court. Samovar Russian Cuisine

I hate to admit it but I think I will. I’m actually not a big fan of Russian or even, Arab food. No, am not discriminating. But it’s just so.. erm.. Not me? This time round, I went to Samovar Russian Restaurant at Solaris Mont Kiara thanks to I LOVE DISCOUNTS. This discount was featured on the website a few weeks back where it was just RM25 for Meal for 2. Giving you 50% off from it’s original RM 50. I seemed reluctant going for a new taste but I did it after all. And to my amazement, it wasn’t all too bad So, I thought this was one of my personal favourite. The Olivia Russian Traditional Salad. The taste was a well blend of mixed veg and some meat (and cheese, I think). And I thought the blending of taste was pretty appetizing.IMG_0138 IMG_0139 Kicking off your meals, you also get a Borsh Soup. Though I think the soup was pretty ordinary. I was not able to compare to the usual Borsh Soup because this is an entirely different cuisine. I thought the taste could have been a lil more sour. But averagely, for a soup, it was something unique that it’s worth a try!IMG_0140  Going into the Main Course, this is Katletti (Breaded minced chicken with butter and cheese filling). The Chicken was a little bit oily and salty, at first. But when it’s mixed with the rice, I think it was such a good mix. The chicken was fresh and there are actually some spices and sauces for you to add on to flavour it, which I thought it was pretty interesting!IMG_0143Pepper, mayonnaise and chilli sauce. IMG_0144 This was the Blinchiki (Beef rolled inside a pancake) and Golubtsy (Meat rolled in cabbage leaves and stewed – a famous Russian Winter dish). I thought the beef in Blinchiki was pretty tender, fresh and nice. It was nicely wrapped and you can also add some black pepper sauce.IMG_0146 This is really a nice dish and it’s pretty filling.IMG_0145 You are also served with Ice Lemon Tea as part of the discount. Generally, the whole shop has a great ambience and it’s clean. The ambience is quiet and calm. It also faces the NKVE highway where you see cars all over.If you enjoy seeing cars, that’s the place to hang out at. Before I forget, Samovar also offers Western and Italian favourites like steaks, grilled meats, lasagna and spaghettis. They also have a Bring-Your-Own Alcohol policy. There are no alcohol offered on the menu. Nevertheless, you can bring your own and there are no corkage charges. If you think thats just it, glasses and ice are all at your service for free. This deal ended on January 25, 2011 on ILOVEDISCOUNTS. If you did not get this deal, you kinda missed us, cause it’s not always you get 50% off on your favourite meals. __________________________________________________________________________ SAMOVAR RUSSIAN CAFE K-01-08 SOHO KL, 1st Floor (Facing NKVE Highway), few doors from Tenji, Solaris Mont Kiara Business Hours: Daily from 3pm-12am. If you see…

You know. It was quite depressing to have friends from Singapore, joining Taylor Swift’s concert. What was worst? They tweet and mention me in almost all the pictures and tweets. It’s like being constipated in the toilet – wanna let it out but you can’t. Here was one of the evil teaser all the way from Singapore! IMG_0104 Introduced to Taylor Swift by a close friend a few years back has indeed been memorable. This friend of mine would do whatever it was for Taylor Swift. And he got me so crazy and guess what, I asked a friend to buy her album all the way from the US when it was not released yet here in Malaysia. Taylor Swift’s genre of music is always something light and it gets you swift-ing along all the time. Fine, I know and read all about her writing songs everytime she breaks up. But in my mind, here was what I was thinking: “If she writes that good songs, maybe she should break up 12 times a year”. Okay, I didn’t mean it. But if she never break up, these songs will never be on air right? 😀 Well, RedFm is giving us (ME actually!) a chance to see her LIVE in the UK as well as a share of RM 20,000. You know the amount of things I can buy with RM 20K. It’s like, I can bring all of you for buffet meal or something! 😀 So, it’s 3 simple steps: Step 1: Go to Facebook, click join on: Red Fm (Malaysia) Step 2: Change your profile picture to this: red Step 3: Share your Taylor Swift and Red.Fm Love. May I add – Step 4: Sit, back, wait and drop me a note on this post! 😀 By the way, hawt pictures of Taylor Swift doesn’t require thousands, just one nice one will do! 😀 Find out more on: www.red.fm – Today’s Best Music.

Helping A Friend.

I feel good recently. Decided to help people.

Okay, yes I won and iPhone4 too. I’ll tell you how I managed to later.
LIFE IS NOT FAIR. Tell me about it. Anyone. The main point is this…
I SUPPORT [TCMAINE]

Doubletree Hotel by Hilton

Some of you may have overheard or ter-read on Twitter or Facebook that I won a 2 Days 1 Night Stay at the Guestroom at Doubletree Hotel by Hilton. Doubletree Hotel by Hilton is actually the old Crowne Plaza, if I remembered correctly. With the winning entry on one of their Merdeka Day Facebook Contest, I was invited with a bunch of winners and bloggers to attend their dinner as well as to collect my prize. Like I said, I won a 2 Days 1 Night Stay. Some blogger from Advertlets were there such as Josh Lim and Jin from Hitz.Fm Party Show (which he also blogged about it here)IMG_0360I was also treated to a sumptuous meal at the Makan Kitchen. There are various food in Makan Kitchen and each section called Kitchen has their own specialty.IMG_0361This was the Chinese Section where you get the Chinese food like Dim Sum and some other normal Chinese Food. IMG_0362This was more of the Malay Section, where you get rojak. Goreng Pisang and all. The goreng pisang was nice. Really nice. 😉 IMG_0364This was the Iban side of food. Which I think it was also combined with some Indian food. I didn’t try this much as I was not a big fan of Indian food. But I did try some of it. IMG_0366 IMG_0367Some of the seating positions at Makan Kitchen. They have really nice interior. Loving the designs and the simplicity as well as the lightings accompanied with it. IMG_0368The view from Makan Kitchen. IMG_0370And we were also given a tour before we actually ate because we were waiting for buka puasa. We were brought around the newly renovated and refurbished hotel. I’ve to say it’s really nice and well done. We went to the gym first. The gym has loads of equipments as well as its a really nice environment.IMG_0372 IMG_0373This was their Italian Restaurants. Sorry for the lack of pictures. But it looks really nice. IMG_0374This was a random view shot from below which I took.IMG_0376The outside section where you can grab a drink. IMG_0377Because it was time to buka puasa, we went back for a meal first. But this is something you might wanna look for when you’re there – The Teppanyaki Ice Cream. It’s really crunchy and nice. I loved it very much.IMG_0382And this is the Teppanyaki Ice Cream IMG_0383My lovely ice-kacang. Other food I didn’t take much! :) IMG_0384We were brought up to the hotel too. These are some of the images of the room. IMG_0386 IMG_0387This is funny so I had to do this, the glass was transparent. You can see whatever happening inside the washroom if you leave the blind open. LOL. If you wanna show your partner something, this might be something interesting for you to do? :op IMG_0389 View from the hotel rooms.IMG_0390Another part of the hotel: IMG_0391 IMG_0392 IMG_0393 This is The Food Store where they sell stuffs:IMG_0394They are also famous for their Chocolate Chip Cookies. I was given one. They serve it to the guests who comes when they check in. It is also available for sale of course:IMG_0395 So, this is such an adventure by winning the 2 Days 1 Night Stay. I have yet to use it yet. i ain’t jealous. cause u know i will write.

A lil personal post:I’ve not done blog review for ages. Let’s hope I get to write something.

I am not at all jealous. Not a single bit. It’s not who writes first. It’s who writes what. That is more important. =P

Introducing: www.mirmanror.wordpress.com

The blog of Ong Ben Leon.

I don’t know who and what influenced him to have a blog. Everyone is giving me that same face, expressions, looks – WHAT? HE HAS A BLOG?

Okay. I didnt mean anything bad. But it’s a good thing that he has a blog. Time to stalk him – I meant well. =P and maybe if he continues to update it when he is in Singapore. =)

The owner’s ***y face =PP

Good start for him. Especially people like HIM!

You guys know I rarely (not a single bit, these days) promotes new blogs. But he being someone important in my life, I better just promote lah. Since he said his friend promoted and i should be JEALOUS! I am not. Definitely NOT. I wrote way longer and I am sure you appreciate a post all by yourself for you. Hahaha.

His blog now basically covers all about food, for now. I have yet to see anything about his life or any sort of other categories. Bear in mind, he loves food. Remember the food post I posted? The Bro who cooks for me? Yeah, this Man in the Mirror thingy is his very own blog. But that doesnt mean I am not gonna post up blogs about his pastas and food anymore. I will. When I get the pics *hint hint*

He has cooked for me, to date. I think 3 plates and 1 pot of pasta. The pot was obviously not for me. I don’t eat that much. Haha. But it’s nice. I used to only eat the basic Speghetti but no longer, after he cooks. Heh

And he, as usual: Arrogant =P. He is just bangga-ing that his blog has 143hits since few days ago. It is considered a lot for a newbie like him. =P. Okay. I told him I was jealous about this. So, whoever visits his blog must visit mine first. I only have close to 8XXX visitors for the past one and the half year. And it has been decreasing lately.

Look at the screenshot below:

Yeah. So tell me about his blog on my tagbox. Feel free to kutuk. =P Opps. Kidding.

A SUMMARY OF CLUSTER SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE CONCEPT BY THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
I am not against the whole concept of cluster school. Really. Why do I have to? Instead, I think it is a brilliant idea. But no one could have ever thought the miseries that would bring to the teachers and the students if full autonomy have been given to a principal who misuses it.
If you don’t get me, I am saying that the pricipal is making me feel sick with this title. I have said, I am not against the new system. I am proud of the system and I am indeed glad that I am the pioneer batch of this cluster school of excellence. But I am sick with how my principal manage the school after being given this title.Everyone in my school, including me would pretty agree that Mr Peter Yii wants the best out of his students and teachers. But the way he is enforcing the new things, make everyone retaliate at this point of time. I am pretty grateful having a good principal like him- who guides us not only during our secondary school level but more than that. And the coaching he has given to us about moral values, about behaviour and being a student with confidence. I am so thankful.
All I would ask for is that he implement the changes slowly and not being so drastic. You may never know about all the new things he has implement on us after us being declared a cluster school of excellence. Have you ever cared about how your teachers and students feel?
Here are some new things after Cluster School of Excellence:
1. Ujian Pengesanan is a waste of time. This dear principal of mine has decided to have Ujian Pengesanan every month. You might have asked what this is all about? This Ujian Pengesanan thingy is where each subject teacher gives us 4 essays and 4 structured questions with the model answer at the beginning of the month. And at the end of every month, students have to stay back from 2-3 and 2 essays and 2 structured questions are tested. We have to basically write back what we have look through or memorise. Don’t you think it is a waste of time? It is not done during the class hours but after class hours. Why force all of us to get 70 marks and above. If we don’t get 70 marks and above, we will get 2 strokes of cane and we have to re-sit the same paper until we pass with 70. Isn’t it ridiculous? Imagine if we get less than 70 for all the subjects. count for yourself how many canes we are to get? You are basically caning us for our stupidity!
2. Caning from the principal makes me sick! Imagine you go t0 school with fear everyday? The principal enters your class every single day without fail to cane those students who were absent the day before without letter. Damnit! We are 17 and you want to cane us? And all the reports the teacher writes into the class diary, we get the canes from him as well. Is he crazy? He does that to the whole school.. Imagine it? Don’t you feel the fear in me. You can’t blame me. You have used the cane way too much. Basically, we get cane for the smallest mistake we make.
3. Stop encouraging the teachers to give extra class. We are all appealing for shorter school hours and here you are, asking the teachers to lengthen it. WTF? I am tired enough to stay till 2pm almost everyday. What more do you want? And skipping our lunch because of class? It is pure torturing!
4. The teachers are also complaining-every single one of them. The principal is pressuring all of the teachers to improve in their teaching, don’t be late for class, check their books every week (as if we are kindergaten students), and asking the Ketua Bidang to do random inspection on books and class. Teachers too teach with fear now. They no longer give you that smile to assure you that things will be alright, instead, they will give you the fierce faces which just annoys me and take my mood away.
5. Stop giving teachers their targets! Each teacher have been set targets for the classes they teach. For example, 18 people to get Sejarah 1A in SPM for 5/O. Isn’t that ridiculous? If he/she doesnt achieve, they will have to see HIM for some scoldings!
6. Saturday classes. Are you crazy? Most of the Saturday’s you have asked us to come to school for class. What more do you want? It is Saturday! Get a life!
7. The principal should stop coming into the class suddenly and cane everyone when it is noisy.. The innocent will also get it!
There are so many more new things in the school. Before you come for us, look at you damn self! You have cane almost the whole school and it is undeniable that you are very good at caning because it really really do hurts. It makes me start to hate this cluster school concept. It is so pressuring and everyone is going crazy. Can we jsut have some fun in school like we use to have? Give us some time. Don’t rush in implementing so many things! We are no robots. We want you to know we also want the best possible results. Stop coming after us and chasing us like crazy..
Why must I always be the guinea pigs for the governments? I just dislike it!
I really wonder what steps are VI, SAB and CBN taking! We have took so many steps to ensure we are one of the top. I mean to remain one of the top premier centenary school in the country.

PUBLIC APOLOGIES

I am sorry for putting up my last 2 posts without the consent of tht 2 person. I really am. It was what I felt but I never intend to hurt you guys. You know how much I care and how much I love.

To BL: Thank you so much. I know you have been trying since that day. I can see it in all your messages. I hope things will last. You will always have a place in my heart. The scars are there but I pray, 1 day it will all be gone… =) Although you seldom take initiative, but at least you are responding.. and taking a little initiative.

To ‘buaya’: You know my heart. I don’t have to go on further… =) You have been a great blessing. Love ya!

To SC: You too will have a place in my heart. A significant part. I do hope you know. No matter how down you are feeling, I will always be there- to hear and to help you up. Trust me. This is my promise for you. Hope you are feeling better…

I know I have been a bit rude in my last few posts too, I am sorry.

SELFLESS TO SELFISH

Sometimes, I don’t know when I am to be selfish and when I am to be selfless. I somehow thinks that I have been selfless way too many time. Enduring everything and anything that is given to me and doing everything for people. Letting people get the fame and I do the job just piss me off at times. Prolly I should not be selfless anymore and I should learn to be selfish. I don’t know…
